Visit of a delegation from Vietnam to the Central Office of Measures
On 20–21 May 2026, the Central Office of Measures (GUM) hosted a delegation from the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the Republic of Poland and from the Commission for the Standards, Metrology and Quality of Vietnam (STAMEQ).
The Embassy of Vietnam was represented by H.E. Mr Ha Hoang Hai, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Poland, and Ms Nguyen Huyen Trang, Third Secretary of the Embassy of Vietnam. The STAMEQ delegation included: Mr Nguyen Nam Hai- President of STAMEQ, Mr Bui Ba Chinh - Director of the National Numbering and Barcode Center, Mr Hoang Quoc Viet - Head of the General Business Department, Mr Tran Van Viet- Head of the External Affairs Department, and Mr Nguyen Van Quynh - Senior Specialist of the Science, Education, Culture and Social Affairs Department.
On the first day of the visit, a meeting was held at the headquarters of the Central Office of Measures in Warsaw regarding the possibility of establishing cooperation between GUM and STAMEQ. Mr Andrzej Kurkiewicz, Director of the Innovation and Development Department of the Central Office of Measures, gave a presentation on the structure and activities of the office. Information about the functioning of the institution he manages was also presented by STAMEQ President, Mr Nguyen Nam Hai. After the meeting, the delegation had the opportunity to visit the laboratories of the Time and Length Metrology Department.
On the second day, the delegation visited the Świętokrzyski Laboratory Campus of the Central Office of Measures in Kielce, where they toured selected laboratories and learnt about advanced research equipment.
