We have successfully celebrated the grand opening of the Świętokrzyski Laboratory Campus of the Central Office of Measures!
Over 200 guests attended the grand opening of the Świętokrzyski Laboratory Campus of the Central Office of Measures in Kielce, which took place on Monday, 9 September 2024.
The inauguration of the new science and research centre was attended by representatives from the world of science, state and local government authorities as well as local businesses.
The voivodeship authorities were represented by the Marshal of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, Renata Janik, while the Kielce authorities by the Mayor, Agata Wojda. Moreover, we also hosted the Deputy Voivode of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, Michał Skotnicki, the Vice Starost of the Kielce Poviat, Tomasz Dulny, and the former Mayor of Kielce, Bogdan Wenta.
Among others, the following persons were present: Members of Parliament: Anna Krupka, Agata Wojtyszek, Rafał Kasprzyk, Lucjan Pietrzczyk, Andrzej Szejna, senators Krzysztof Słoń, Jarosław Rusiecki. Mrosław Wróblewski – President of the Personal Data Protection Office.
The grand opening of the Świętokrzyski Laboratory Campus of the Central Office of Measures was also attended by Jan Strzeżek - Head of the Political Cabinet of the Minister of Development and Technology, Professor Maria Mrówczyńska - Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Paweł Kossakowski – Vice Rector for Research and Cooperation with External Entities of the Kielce University of Technology, Izabela Krzysztofik – Vice Rector for General Affairs of the Kielce University of Technology, and Professor Adam Woźniak - Chairman of the Metrology Council.
Congratulations on the opening of the Campus were also expressed by representatives of international metrology organisations who were present in Kielce: Mehrija Hasičić – Executive Secretary of WELMEC, Mikko Merimaa – General Secretary of EURAMET, Martin Milton – Director of BIPM, Daniel Bodnar – Member of the Executive Board of WELMEC, Harald W. Scholz – European Commission representative.

Let us remind you that the construction of the Świętokrzyski Laboratory Campus of the Central Office of Measures began at the junction of Wrzosowa Street and Popiełuszki Avenue in Kielce in 2021. From the very beginning, the investment was carried out in cooperation with the Kielce University of Technology.
The Campus includes 6 laboratories (Acoustics, Time and Frequency, Mass, Length, Thermometry, Metrology Informatics), conference and educational facilities as well as office space. The Campus provides the conditions for collaboration between professional and innovative laboratory metrology and the economy. It offers a space for the exchange of technological ideas, using innovative measurement methods and the latest technologies. State-of-the-art measurement infrastructure and the minimisation of the impact of environmental conditions and interference, ensure measurement accuracy at the highest required level.
The value of the project in Stage I (phase I) amounted to PLN 185,700,061.93. The co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund was PLN 162,664,157.90.
The project is implemented as part of the Priority Axis I - Innovation and science, Action 1.1 Support for R&D infrastructure of the Regional Operational Programme of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship 2014-2020.
