Participation of the GUM representative in the 18th meeting of the WELMEC e.V. Committee

On May 15-17 this year the 18th meeting of the WELMEC Committee (European Cooperation in the Field of Legal Metrology) took place in Bruges.

The meeting was also attended by a representative of GUM, Mr. Marcin Mikiel, for the first time as a member of the Executive Board. During the meeting, a number of resolutions were adopted regarding the further functioning of the organization. The delegates approved the work reports from the working groups and work plans for the next year. A representative of Slovakia was elected as the chairman of the WG 12 working group (taximeters), and Mr. Mehrija Hasicic (Bosnia and Herzegovina) was appointed as the Executive Secretary. During the meeting members of the Committee learned about the state of work on the amendment to the MID Directive and established a group to analyze the functioning of the organization.

One of the elements of the meeting was the adoption of a resolution supporting the next metrology research program under the 10th Framework Program.

In addition, WELMEC's budget was approved, and a resolution was adopted emphasizing the non-profit status of WELMEC e.V.
