Dr. Eng. Jerzy Borzymiński from the Central Office of Measures awarded the prestigious medal of the International Organization of Legal Metrology

On October 24th, 2019, during the 54th meeting of the International Committee of Legal Metrology (CIML), Dr. Jerzy Borzymiński received from the CIML President prof. dr. Roman Schwartz Medal of the International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML)

OIML medals were awarded to Mrs Lagauterie (France), to Dr Jerzy Borzyminski (Poland) and to Dr Miki (Japan) in recognition of their outstanding contributions to international legal metrology.

Professor Schwartz emphasized the winner's many years of work for Polish and international metrology, first as a long-time employee of the Warsaw University of Technology, and then at the Central Office of Measures, where he held managerial functions, as well as in other institutions and organizations, especially international ones. Professor Schwartz reminded many years of cooperation between Dr. Borzymiński and OIML, in which he has been managing the work of the Technical Committee for Terminology (OIML TC 1) for over 22 years. The President of CIML also emphasized the laureate's outstanding contribution to the development of subsequent editions of the International Dictionary of Legal Metrology and other OIML publications in the field of metrological terminology. He also reminded that Dr. Borzymiński has been a representative of OIML in the Working Group on the International Vocabulary of Metrology for 12 years and therefore participated in the development of the third edition of this Vocabulary.
