The General Assembly of EURAMET with the participation of the GUM delegation

13. General Assembly of EURAMET (European Association of National Metrology Institutes) has started on the day after the symbolic entry into force of the new definitions of units of measurement (May 20th).

During the meeting, which took place in Boras (Sweden), the participants elected Vice-President of EURAMET (Maria Luisa Rastello from Italy was elected for the re-election). In addition, a new composition of the Board of Directors and chairpersons of parts of EURAMET's technical committees was selected. An important part of the meeting was making decisions regarding the work of the association's working bodies (solution of task groups for health, environment, energy). The chairman of the Metrological Network Working Group, Beat Jeckelmann, was also appointed. Moreover, the cooperation strategy with another European metrology organization, WELMEC, was approved. Delegates also approved the EURAMET financial report and budget. A separate part was the reports from the work of the EURAMET technical committees.

It was also decided about the place and date of the next General Assembly, which will be held on 25-28 May 2020 in Vienna.
