The meetings of Technical Committee Metrology in Chemistry (TC-MC) and its subcommittees (SZ-MC) took place on Malta, from 2 to 6 February 2015. The events were hosted by the Standards and Metrology Institute of the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA). In the meetings participated representatives of the European NMIs and DIs dealing with the chemical metrology issues. From the side of GUM participated the representatives from the Physical Chemistry Department: Piotr Kolasiński (Laboratory of Gas Reference Materials, Władysław Kozłowski (Laboratory of Electrochemistry) and Agnieszka Zoń (Laboratory of Density, Viscosity and Spectral Analysis).

The meetings of the following technical subcommittees took place: Gas Analysis (SC GA), Inorganic Analysis (SC IA), Electrochemical Analysis (SC EA) and Organic Analysis (SC OA). Among topics discussed in the meetings was research progress in the field of the chemical metrology (in the framework of EMPIR as well). The participants could get information on the new research projects proposals (i.a. EMPIR) and thenotified CMC declarations and their actualization as well. The participants could also take place in the technical presentations, inter alia during the meeting of the SC EA was offered a presentation on “New electrochemical techniques for environmental analysis (W. Kozłowski)”.

In the framework of the plenary meeting of the TC-MC took place the EMPIR 2015 Workshop (European Metrology Programme for Innovation and Research – 2015) during which there were presented the proposals of the potential research projects foreseen for submission in the framework of the this year EMPIR join projects. The proposals have been presented in the following research areas: health, standardization research, the SI units.
